I love to DJ multi-cultural weddings! Last year, Jiadai and Congbai found me on a Google search. They were in need of a DJ who could play music for the mix of the American and Chinese guests who would be attending their wedding. If you are familiar with my blogs and social media posts, you know how much I love music! My answer to Jiadai & Congbai was, “Of course!”
Over the next few months up until the wedding, I worked with this lovely couple to prepare the perfect mix of music for this multi-cultural event. Yet, Jiadai and Congbai were also concerned about the introductions. Would I be comfortable pronouncing the names of their wedding party? Again my answer? “Of course”. If you visit my social media pages, you also know I love to speak and write in different languages! While I am not nearly an expert in any language, I do enjoy learning different languages. Over the years, I have MC’d many different weddings from Chinese, Korean, Irish, Italian, Latin, Jewish and more!
The best part of this Chinese/American wedding? We were all “Leeeeeeees!” Jiadai and Congbai already had the same last name. Their parents and family had the same last name. My name, while spelled differently, is pronounced the same. By the time I was getting to the end of the introductions, everyone was laughing that it was TRUE “LEEEEE” a great wedding!
