Jingle Jam is one of the biggest networking events of the year for people in the events, or entertainment, industry in the greater Philadelphia area. Each year, during the holiday season, HSMAI (The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International) and ISES (The International Special Events Society) host this truly amazing event.
The MLE team had so much fun sponsoring this year’s “Revelry” themed party at the Sheraton Downtown in Philadelphia. What services did we provide? Greeters to give the guests a fun and entertaining welcome as they arrived, characters to interact and dance with guests, music for the end of the night and Bertos’ team was there grabbing it all on film to produce a video of this spectacular evening.
We absolutely loved the “Revelry” theme. We created, “Masquerade”, “Phantom of the Opera”, and “Marie Antoinette” characters for this black tie ball. We made two costume changes. In the front room and entrance areas, we greeted guests dressed in long, elegant, but funky, masquerade ball gowns with elaborate jewelry. What’s more? We welcomed guests in the French language with words like, “Bonsoir” (Good evening) and “Comment Allez Vous” (How are you).
In the main room, we changed into our “Marie Antoinette” type characters wearing funky corsets and tutus. Wait. I’m not done! We also provided the last hour of the musical entertainment in the main room. Me, DeeJay Shelly (aka Marie Antoinette), said hello to everyone in French by saying, “Bonsoir. Comment Allez Vous? Je m’appelle DeeJay Shelly. Tu aimes bien danser?” (Good evening. How are you? My name is DeeJay Shelly. Do you like dancing?) To get everyone excited to get out on the dance floor we opened with a mix of Lady Gaga’s original “Poker Face” with the “Poker Face” performance from the Vitamin String Quartet to go along with the theme.
DJ Nathan Barta (masked as the Phantom of the Opera) and DeeJay Shelly (Marie Antoinette) took turns playing some great dance music. As an interactive entertainment company, we were all out on the dance floor getting the party started! Thank you to Samantha Overstreet, Kim Sargent, and the lovely Marcella for their awesome performance as our characters, greeters and dancers! Of course, the evening wouldn’t have been complete without a little “T-Swift”. DJ Nathan got everyone out for the last song of the night for a dance/sing along to one of Taylor Swift’s new songs, “Blank Space.”
Where was Bert’s Eye View you ask? Of course, he was behind the video camera! While Bertos did grab a few quick pictures of our characters, the main goal for his team was to capture this amazing experience on video! We can’t wait to see the final production!
Thank you to the International Special Events Society, HSMAI, Cort Event Furnishings, Synergetic Sound and Lighting and all of the Jingle Jam 2014 sponsors for making it an AMAZING event! We were so happy to be a part of it!
