ROCK “N” ROLL NEWS: Fleetwood Mac Schedule World Reunion Tour With Christine McVie!
Stevie Nicks told Rolling Stone over a year ago there was “more of a chance of an asteroid hitting the Earth” than Christine McVie returning to Fleetwood Mac. Well, the news is that the Mac’s keyboardist and singer – who quit in 1998 after three decades with the group – is returning for a world tour which starts this September and a possible new album.
The tour, entitled On With the Show, begins Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Target Center. The band is set to perform 34 shows in 33 cities across North America. Tickets go on sale beginning Monday, April 7 through the Live Nation mobile app and Live Nation’s at website.
McVie gave her decision to leave the band, “I had some deluded idea that I wanted to live the ‘country lady’ life,” she tells Rolling Stone. “But I went through a divorce and I felt isolated in the country. I grew quite ill and depressed.” McVie realized the best way to fix her life was to rejoin Fleewood Mac, though Lindsey Buckingham admits he had some reservations when he first heard she wanted back in. “I wanted to make sure she grasped the weight of would it would entail,” he says. “She also had to understand that if she was coming back that, basically, she has to stay. She wants to do it.”
“Being back is really a time warp,” she says. “The tour is going to be great fun. I feel like a pig in poo right now.”
““Fleetwood Mac toured last year without Christine, though they had to stop short after bassist John McVie’s cancer diagnosis. “His health is on the up,” says Christine. “He’s still doing chemotherapy. He just came in to do his bass parts, so everyone is real excited about that. He gets tired quickly, but he’s definitely been on the mend. He’s been such a man about this whole thing. I have renewed respect and love for him.” McVie reunited with the band last year to perform “Don’t Stop” in London.””

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place April 10th at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center: Michael Stipe is inducting Nirvana. Bruce Springsteen will induct the E Street Band, and they will perform together as well.
Coldplay’s Chris Martin will pay tribute to Peter Gabriel, and he plans on performing. Glenn Frey of the Eagles will induct his former bandleader Linda Ronstadt, and a unique tribute to her will feature Stevie Nicks, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Sheryl Crow and Bonnie Raitt. Questlove of the Roots will pay tribute to Hall and Oates, and the duo plans to play at the ceremony. Peter Asher is going to induct Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham. ALTERNATIVE NEWS: The Smashing Pumpkins to Release Two New Albums in 2015!
Pumpkins’ frontman, Billy Corgan, announced on the band’s website that the two new LPs will be titled Monuments to an Elegy and Day for Night.
“For those interested in sound, think: ‘guitars, guitars, guitars, and more guitars’,” Corgan writes. “But more so on the epic side of things than say, grossly metallic. Recording sessions begin today, as plenty of songs have been written and ready to go.”
The new albums will be produced by Howard Willing, and fans will be able to follow the recording process on the group’s mew website The Panopticon, where Corgan said they’ll post “song titles, lyrics, poetic impressions, pictures, sound clips, studio gear and the like offered for a circuitous, bird’s eye view of the process as it unfolds.”

EDM NEWS: Skrillex and Diplo Reunite as Jack U!
Diplo and Rolling Stone cover subject Skrillex brought their collaborative project Jack U to Ultra Music Festival in Miami Sunday, debuting new tracks amidst a raucous, tag-team set.
The duo took turns manning the turntables and hyping the crowd during their hour-long appearance, which spanned dubstep, trap, house, moombahton and hip-hop. The set began with “Dirty Vibe,” a collaboration between Skrillex, Diplo and K-pop stars G-Dragon and CL from Skrillex’s newly released LP Recess and ended, somewhat paradoxically, with Toto’s “Africa.”
Skrillex has previously said he and Diplo will release five tracks this year from the project, which they debuted at the San Diego edition of Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party in September. No specific info about the project, however, has been released.

HIP HOP NEWS: Kanye West Plans to Record New Album.
Hip Hop artist, Kanye West, has cancelled tour dates in Australia because he has an album to finish. West was due to visit the land Down Under for a run of Yeezus tour dates, but he has rescheduled them for September – so he can keep with a production schedule that will allow him to record his seventh full-length album. It’s scheduled to come out this calendar year, according to a press release on RocNation.
“Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia,” the statement reads. “The tour dates originally scheduled from May 2 to May 11, 2014 will now be played from September 5 to September 15, 2014. All tickets for the initially scheduled shows will be honored for the new dates.”
The press release came via Jay Z’s Roc Nation, which began managing West’s Donda Music – a branch of his Donda creative house – in March. The partnership covers West’s “recording brand” and touring ventures.
““West has been talking about his plans for a follow-up to Yeezus since late last year. In a talk with architect Jacques Herzog during Miami’s Art Basel festival last December, he said he hoped the new album would contain eight songs. Then he compared making an album to designing a building. “It’s just reducing down the amount of information that you need,” he said. “People say a design is the point where you can’t take anything else away. [Yeezus] was very, very designed. I took a departure from radio and popular music in order to get this seat here. If I hadn’t made Yeezus, I wouldn’t be sitting here with this cool font at Basel right here.”””
In other Kanye West news, the rapper will eventually put out a Yeezus movie, though he has yet to say when. He released a trailer recently, “filled with horses, lasers and religious rituals, in February. American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis has said he is working on its screenplay.”
