Normally, we review venues for our Wedding Wednesday blogs. Yet this week, we wanted to feature one of Philly’s best caterers! It drives me crazy when people think Philadelphia is only known for cheesesteaks, when this city offers some of the best cuisine around!
What’s more, most couples don’t realize many of the city’s venues have a few caterers they work with exclusively. When looking into selecting a wedding venue, you’ll also want to inquire about the caterer they use. On the flip side, if you’ve already selected a caterer for your big day, you’ll want to make sure the venue you choose allows them to come to their facility.

Why is this caterer on our “Love List”? For starters, when the owner, who is also the chef, owns a farm – you know you’re eating FRESH! Luna Farm, in Ottsville, PA (Bucks County) owned by Chef Jose Garces, has often supplied his restaurants and his catering division with delicious organic produce.
Secondly, regardless if I’m dining at Amada (one of their restaurants), or attending one of their catered events nibbling on appetizers, one thing is certain – I’m never eating something boring from Jose Garces! Everything on the Garces menu is incredibly unique! The first time I dined at Amada was with one of my good industry friends, Vicki Pohl, who is their Director of Catering Sales. Vicki ordered a number of appetizers and salads for us to share. When our lunch arrived, I looked at my plate in amazement! Nothing less than a work of art on each plate! To top it off, it was extremely delicious!
Third and last reason we love Garces? Their willingness to work with you to create a personalized menu for your event, whether it’s for a bridal shower, a rehearsal dinner, or a wedding!
