As the Head of Entertainment for Jingle Jam 2015, I was dedicated to bringing something Modern, Exciting and Different! The event was held at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, PA. If you’re looking for waterfront views, plenty of space for your guests, and tons of games, check out the Sugar House Casino’s new venue! The biggest reason I love this venue is the amount of different options it offers. You can start off your evening enjoying cocktails on the outside balcony overlooking beautiful views of the waterfront. Next, you and your guests can enjoy a night of dinner and dancing in their trendy, yet elegant ballroom. Uh oh..is the party over? Not quite! You’re in a casino! Just a short ride down the escalator and you and your after hours party posse are ready to WIN!

You certainly don’t need a theme for your wedding. However, incorporating a certain look, or feel, to can help you to make easy decisions when it comes to colors, favors, and decor. There are so many designs you can create with this unique space! Of course, a casino theme is the most obvious and FUN! Yet, you could also go Moulin Rouge, or Black Tie. With the outside balcony overlooking the water, the venue already provides the feel of a “destination wedding” without leaving the city of brotherly love.

Thank you so much to Jenn Shipman for inviting me to be the female DJ for the Double Tree Valley Forge 8th Annual Women’s Luncheon. I support as many organizations as I can throughout the year. Yet women’s and children’s fundraisers are one’s closest to my heart. Friday’s event was to support the Laurel House and Candles to Crayons. Laurel House is a comprehensive domestic violence agency servicing individuals, families and communities throughout the Montgomery County, PA. The agency’s first pro-children, was founded by the Women’s Center of Montgomery in 1980.

Candles to Crayons – DONATE GOODS
Cradles to Crayons’ mission are to provide children ages 0 to 12 some of the most important basics of life—free of charge. These basics include clothing, school supplies, toys, and much more.
In other words, they provide all the physical goods that children need to be safe, protected from the elements, and ready to learn. And by supplying them with high-quality used or new goods, we make children feel valued.

Summary: It’s always the best when you can have your ceremony and reception at the same location! The DoubleTree hotel has a beautiful stone platform for couple’s nuptials. The backdrop to your outdoor ceremony is large wooded trees. Its fantastic that although your close to EVERYTHING the pictures of your wedding ceremony at the DoubleTree hotel can seem like an entirely different place. While your guests are in town they can experience so much in and around the east coasts largest mall, the King of Prussia Mall. The venue also has a great bar, restaurant and private room to hold a rehearsal dinner or have a little after party fun when your reception ends.

Are you a newly engaged couple looking to hire a DJ? For some of you it may be your first time hiring a DJ for an event. Not to mention, one of the most important events of your life. So when hiring a DJ, what questions do you ask? How do you know if they are the right DJ for your wedding? Should you rely solely on the reviews of sites such as, Wedding Wire or The Knot?

Keep in mind, the music is a huge part of your wedding day. You want your guests to leave your event saying, “WOW. What a great wedding!”

When hiring a DJ, it’s important for you to ask questions! This way, you can determine if they are the right DJ for you.

Here are DeeJay Shelly’s Top 25 Questions to ask your Wedding DJ: To find out how our DJs answer these questions contact us today!

1. What makes your company/DJ service different from the rest?
2. Do you have a website?
3. What are your wedding packages/pricing?
4. Do you carry liability insurance? If so, how much? (Most venues require liability insurance. Some require policies as high as $2M).
5. How many years have you been in business?
6. Can you provide referrals?
7. Is a face to face meeting with my DJ included?
8. How many DJs/MCs are included in my quote? What is the role of each DJ/MC.
9. Is lighting included. If so, what kind? If not, what is the up charge?
10. If it’s an entertainment company – Who is the DJ for my wedding? If my DJ is replaced by someone else how far in advance am I notified?
11. Is all set up, break down and travel included in my price?
12. Do you take requests? Do you play all of the requests you receive?
13. Can you give me an example of an uncomfortable situation at a wedding and how you were able to troubleshoot it?
14. Can you give me an example of how you go above and beyond for the weddings you DJ?
15. Do you have a set playlist for the reception, or do you decide on the music as you go?
16. How extensive is your music library? If you don’t have a particular song, can you downloaded it on the spot?

International DJs Michelle Lee and Nathan Barta hit Puerto Rico!

Have you always wanted to DJ in Puerto Rico? Well come along with us on our trip! Thanks to CTC-Events for inviting us to DJ the private island party! The event was a corporate meeting at the Waldorf Astoria. If you’ve always wondered how to travel with your DJ equipment, it’s not that hard. We decided to take most of the equipment as our carry on luggage. If we checked it in, there’s always the possibility it could’ve been lost. We didn’t want to take that chance. We did have to put all of our electronics through security at the airport which meant my controller on the conveyer belt (which you can tell in the video I wasn’t too excited about). However, everything went through smoothly! Since we have a smaller DJ facade on hand, we were able to even fit this into a suite case!

So what did we do about sound? I contacted a rental company in Puerto Rico who would have been able to deliver and set up sound for us. Yet, Chris worked it out with the hotel in the resort for them to provide the sound for the party. After car rides, planes, a tram car, and a ferry, the island party went off without a hitch! It was so much fun!! Well, when you have CTC planning the event you know it’s going to be awesome! In addition to Nathan and I DJing the party, there were beach games, a fire thrower “Mr. Heat”, salsa dancers (Salsa Extravaganza!), a ton of awesome island food, and a great dance party! Thank you to CTC-Events! We can’t wait to go back to Puerto Rico! We hope you enjoy the video! – DJ Michelle Lee and Nathan Barta.
