Who is Sounds By Shelly & Michelle Lee Entertainment?

At the age of thirteen, Shelly was chosen to be a contestant on the television game show, Super Sloppy Double Dare. At the age of 19, Michelle Lee (aka DJ DeeJay Shelly) launched the disc jockey company, Sounds By Shelly. During this time, DeeJay Shelly also interned at WBCB 1490, the radio station co-owned by Merrill Reese, “The Voice of the Eagles”. Why should I become a SBS or MLE intern?

Learn valuable information about your area of interest to help you on your way to a successful career in the events and entertainment industry. What’s more? HAVE FUN while doing it!

MLE hosts numerous unique events all along the east coast. What a better way to learn about the entertainment industry than to be a part of the action?

If selected as an intern, we’ll work together to set a list of short term and long term goals, for you to accomplish while you’re with us. Please keep in mind, we all wear many hats and work as a team. While this is not a paid position, our commitment to you is to provide you with the skills and knowledge to help you further your career.

Can I use this experience on my resume?

Absolutely! If you’re chosen as an intern, we encourage you to use your experience with MLE to add to your resume.

Is it possible this internship will lead to a part-time, or full-time position?

It is possible this position could become a part-time job for you, depending on your area of interest. While the internship is not a paid position, you will have the first opportunity for any events where we need to hire a DJ assistant, photographer assistant, videographer assistant, dancer or character.

In what areas are internships currently available?

1. Music

2. Business (including marketing, social media, sales and operations)

3. Video (sports or entertainment)

4. Photography

5. Event planning

6. Dancing, Theatre, Acting

7. Stage production

Requirements:

1. Must have a reliable source of transportation.

2. Must have a passion for the events and entertainment industry.

3. No experience necessary. You just need to have a passion for your area of interest in one of the services listed above.

4. Must be someone who can make it to work on-time. While our goal is to always have fun, we can not tolerate lateness. We have too many people relying on us to bring the party!

5. Must be a people person. (Even our team behind the cameras, interact with our clients).

6. Must be well groomed. It’s the entertainment industry! Looking top notch is one of the most important things about the job!
