It’s FORECAST FRIDAY! Do you want to be the first to know what’s trending in music? AJ says, “I’ll Tell Ya!” Who does AJ say is really hot right now and only going to get hotter? Rita Ora!

Sam and I agree! Have you heard her song “I Will Never Let You Down”? If you haven’t heard it yet, you have to check it out. It’s awesome. Nathan Barta and I actually included her song in our DJ & Drums video. I’ve probably listened to it 20 times in the past 2 days. AJ says we’re going to be hearing a lot more from Rita. Sounds good to us AJALDAE!

Everything I do involves music. Just like everything I do – involves my family!!!! Thank you to my amazing family (Mom, Dad, Roey, Myah & Will) for helping me put together my ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video. I am a very luck DJ!

I’m so excited! I’m pretty confident Myah is going to be our next start female DJ! She may just be getting started but I see a bright future in this beginner dj’s career! Will on the other hand – not so sure. He didn’t like wearing the red headphones. Maybe red is not his color?

TOP 40/POP NEWS: Foo Fighters Accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

Known for their humor and creativity as a band, and especially in their music videos, The Foo Fighter’s took the popular ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to a whole new level. Frontman Dave Grohl not only accepted the Challenge from his friend/collaborator Zac Brown, but when Grohl and his band did their challenge they did so by paying tribute to “the famous bucket-of-blood scene from Carrie.” Grohl then nominated author, Stephen King, who wrote the book Carrie that the movie of the same name was based on, and also actor, John Travolta, one of the numerous stars of the film released in 1976. Grohl also nominated actor, Jack Black.

Soon after, a video appeared on Facebook of none other than Stephen King accepting the Ice Bucket Challenge and he went on to nominate author John Grisham. The Foo Fighters did a remarkable job reenacting Carrie’s climactic prom disaster, and in it they used actual footage from the movie, and used new footage of Grohl in full Prom Queen dress, with tears running down his face and he goes from joy to “unquenchable rage after he’s doused”. Fellow bandmates Nate Mendel and Pat Smear play the no do gooders who made the bucket drop on Grohl’s head.

Over a week ago, the band made their official announcement of their eighth album, titled, Sonic Highways, which was co-produced with Butch Vig who produced Nirvana’s seminal album, Nevermind, and this new Foos album was recorded in eight different cities. The album will be released November 10th, and will also be supplemented by an HBO documentary series also titled, Sonic Highways which begins October 17^th.

“This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there’s something deeper and more musical to it,” Grohl said in a statement. “I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our ‘sound’.”

So what is AJ forecasting this week? No, he’s not telling us it’s a good beach day, but he is predicting the Secret Sisters may have a big hit on their hands!

“This week, I’m featuring a genre I would never normally feature. The song I think will be big (for certain music lovers) is “Dirty Lie” by the Secret Sisters. The duo is considered country. However, this song I do not feel gives off a country vibe. To me, it’s more of a Bob Dylan feel or even a 20’s vibe. Do I think it will be played on all major radio stations? Probably not. However, I do think it will top the charts in it’s supposed country genre. If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s definitely worth a listen!” – AJALDAE. What have we heard in the world of Rock? According to the radio station 102.0 WMGK’s facebook page, “U2 might be surprising fans by taking the Beyonce route with the release of their much-anticipated follow-up to 2009’s No Line on the Horizon.”

The Irish Times, reports that the band may not go their usual route of a media/promotions blitz that usually goes with a release of a new album by U2, and there is a rumor that they may drop their next album in a similar fashion like Beyonce did with her last album. According to another source, “there will be a “single in September, album September-October, tour announced December, first date April next year.”

According to sources, the thing that has kept U2 from releasing their album earlier was a lack of a strong lead single. That same issue plagued album sales of their prior album, No Line on the Horizon.

Meet the ROCK N ROLLER! Boy, did Nathan Barta get excited when we saw this great multi-roller! Since he carries all the heavy pieces of DJ equipment (ok, I’ll come clean he pretty much carries almost all of it! He’s just awesome like that!!) he quickly pointed out – and suggested I purchase – the Rock N Roller. Although I didn’t purchase it at the expo, I think I will be adding this little guy to our crew.
